Attendance Procedures

Attendance Procedures

Overview

Teachers will be taking attendance every period for EVERY class whether taught in person on Wednesday or online every day.  If a student is not present (in person or logged in to their Zoom class) an alert will be sent home to notify you of their absence. Until we receive a call or supporting documentation, this absence will be considered unexcused.

If you know your student will not be present for a class, please call the Attendance Office at 440-327-6222 and leave a detailed message. This will excuse the absence and keep an alert from being sent. Please fax all doctor notes to 440-327-2145.

Calls to Attendance

Please know that the main attendance line (440-327-6222) goes to voicemail 24/7. If you need to speak with someone in attendance, just leave a message or call 440-327-1992 and select option #6 for the main office and ask for attendance; this will connect you directly with someone. If you happen to get their voicemail, please leave a message. This line is checked every few minutes and someone will call you back when requested.

Tardy Students Arriving During First Period

Late to school on Wednesday for Hybrid students

All late students are to report to the building office of the class for which they are arriving late. If a parent has called prior to the student’s arrival or if they come with a note from a parent or doctor, they will be excused; otherwise, it will be considered unexcused until we receive a call or note.

Picking up Students

Students Leaving Early

If your student needs to leave early; whether they are to be picked up, are driving themselves or plans to leave with another student, please give the attendance office advance notice as to the time they need to leave and whether they will or will not be returning.

COVID-19 Reporting

Please leave any of the following if it applies to your student:

  1. Tested positive for COVID-19

  2. Are in quarantine due to being in contact with someone who has COVID-19

  3. Has COVID-19 symptoms
