Student Wellness and Success Funds
Ohio’s districts and schools receive Student Wellness and Success Funds to support initiatives to support wraparound services for Ohio’s students. Districts must use at least 50% of these funds for mental health services, physical health care services, or a combination of both. The North Ridgeville City School District utilized our funding to pay for two (2) licensed independent social workers who support students in PK-12 and one (1) Student Wellness and Prevention Coordinator, an LPCC-S, a licensed practicing clinical counselor, and supervisor. These three staff members work to organize and implement services to support our students and families, including evidence-based treatment and cognitive-behavioral strategies. All staff supported our district's mental health supports, including counseling coordination with community agencies and evidence-based suicide prevention training, including QPR for all district staff. These three hires worked to provide interventions as well as prevention to support students with accessing resources for using controlled substances in collaboration with LCADA.
