What is ARC?
The Academic Recognition Committee (ARC) is a volunteer organization funded by private fundraising and donations. The committee is made up of parents, teachers, and staff who acknowledge and support the academic achievements of North Ridgeville High School students.
The committee supports the school district in hosting various award ceremonies that recognize quarterly students who earn a 3.5 GPA or better, awarding college scholarships to graduating NRHS seniors and awarding the annual NRHS Hall of Fame recipients.
Just like most groups, after the pandemic, the Academic Recognition Committee has struggled to get volunteers and membership numbers have dwindled. With the collaboration of district and high school administration, the committee now has a new focus on growing and sustaining the ARC scholarship fund while continuing to support the district with assistance as needed for ARC award ceremonies.Last school year, because of increased fundraising efforts, the committee was able to increase scholarship awards. In previous years, ARC awarded two $500 scholarships. Last school year, ARC awarded three $750 scholarships. It is the committee's hope to increase awards by a minimum of one additional scholarship this school year with a plan to grow the fund each school year. How to Join
